2015 - 2016 First Distinguished Lecture Program

Thursday September 10, 2015 turned out to be an awesome day in the calendar of SPE section 116 as it saw our first Distinguish Lecture program for the 2015 to 2016 cycle and what a presentation it was. The topic is "the oil industry paying enough attention to process safety" could not have been better delivered. The lecturer Hisham Saadawi gave a clear distinction between the type of safety we are used to "occupational safety" and the safety we should really pay more attention to "process safety". 
The lecture was well attended by the SPE members and the feedback was amazing. In the words of the lecturer "Thank you for looking after me during my visit to Benin City. I enjoyed the talk and the lively discussion afterwards. It was great to see so many young engineers and students. They are the future of the oil industry"
